The Backpack magazine is published quarterly (March - June - September - December) and is circulated free to all members. This contains items of information and interest to members. It is written by backpackers, edited by backpackers and intended to be read by backpackers.

Backpacking Weekends

Backpacking weekends are held in many parts of the UK, enabling members to meet each other. These are arranged by members on a friendly and informal basis. Dates are printed in the club magazine with a contact telephone number for further information. The normal format is for a site for Friday and one for Saturday to be given, not too far apart. It is up to the individual if they attend one or both, and whether they travel from one to the other as part of a group or on their own, on a suggested route or one of their own devising. Novices are welcome and are treated sympathetically. We all remember what it was like when we first started.
UK Farm Pitch Directory

This is available to members only, free on joining. It is compiled and kept up to date by members who have actually used the sites.
UK Long Distance Footpath List

The Long Distance Footpath site and pitch directory is the only one of its type. It covers most of the established long distance routes in the UK. Compiled and updated by members, it is extremely useful for the backpacker intending to walk such a route.
Club Liaison Members

Liaison Members are appointed for most UK counties. These are experienced backpackers who can assist and advise you if you need it. Some hold local monthly meetings and can arrange lifts to weekend meets. There is a liaison service in non-UK countries where the club has members.
Scottish Week

This week of trekking in the Highlandsof Scotland is normally held in late spring or early June each year.
